Name: Ty Lee

Personality: Ty Lee normally seems like she's in her own "little Ty Lee world". Even though she ended up assisting Azula in her pursuit of the Avatar, she usually had a smile on her face and cheerful disposition when not actively working against Aang and his friends - and sometimes, she smiles even when she is fighting against them! Her upbeat attitude about the deal has less to do with any personal desire to take part in the demise of the Avatar and more to do with the fact she enjoys being with her friends Azula and Mai and being able to show her skills. Being cheerful and fun-loving is just the way she is.

One of the reasons she's able to remain happy is because she tends to look on the bright side and find something enjoyable in almost any situation. The best example of this is when Azula makes staying at her dream job at the circus unbearable. While she outright said she would rather stay and she's obviously scared by Azula, she is genuinely happy in the end to be with her friends again, and settles into her new role casually and with ease. Even at the end of the series, after being imprisoned, she still has her usual upbeat attitude and even befriended some of her fellow inmates. She's pretty good at taking things in stride.

Maybe because she's usual cheerful and fun-loving, she makes friends easily and tends to be friendly with people regardless of where they're from or where she is at the time. She's a self-confessed lover of parties and someone who obviously loves physical activities that showcase her talents. She's usually good-natured, even with her enemies, with the worst she did on a personal level was tell a Kyoshi Warrior that she wasn't "as pretty" as Ty Lee herself was. ...And even then, Ty Lee likely befriended that same girl in prison less than a year later when she joined the Kyoshi Warriors.

She's really not all sunshine and rainbows, though. A few of her traits - such as her sociability and the way makes a show out of her acrobatic talent - stems from an innate desire for attention and to stand out. Having been part of a "matching set" with her sisters, she wanted more than anything to set out as her own individual. This in itself is a sore spot for her and the source of quite a bit of unhappiness, but not something she's incapable of overcoming going by the end of the series. She's also the sort of person that, because of her love of attention, likely wouldn't find it easy to commit, and seems to be rather self-centered when it comes boys who have an interest in her. While she's hurt when Azula points out that boys only like her because she's a tease, she really doesn't do anything to prove she cares about those boys any more than they seem to care about her. She likes to flirt and be attended to; she's not looking for something serious and isn't that comfortable with things going in that direction.

Additionally, while friendship means a lot to Ty Lee, and it's hard for her to be mean to them, she isn't always blindingly faithful. A defining moment for her comes when she finally stops Azula when she tries to attack their friend Mai. It's a betrayal that no-one saw coming, but she could not stand seeing her friends in danger like that. Less seriously, she can be catty when provoked, even when it's her friends, but her insults are usually pretty tame.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Athletic! Acrobatic! Strong!
+ Chi blocking: Pinches pressure points to immobilise body parts.
+ Enthusiastic
+ Loving and loyal

- Rushes into things
- Can be too loyal
- Self-centered

Um, hey! [ There's a girl with a painted face and crooked smile on the screen, and she gives a little wave. ] Fen and I have been walking forever, but we haven't found anyone yet.

—Well, aside from you guys, of course. [ She gives a more energetic wave to some people off screen. ] But I know you have to be here somewhere, Suki. I mean, you were right there before this whole mom and pokémon thing happened. All of you couldn't have just poofed and disappeared without me. [ She says it like it should be completely obvious.

A second later, someone calls to her off screen, and Ty Lee looks over to listen. ]
Oh, I'll be there in just a second! [ And back to the screen: ] See you later! [ With a little wave goodbye, she hangs up. ]

Third Person Sample:
"Oh, you are so cute!" Ty Lee chirped as the cleffa emerged from the pokéball with a little squeak of its own. Even after travelling all over with Azula and Mai, she never saw an animal like it before - it was so little and round and pink! Not even the circus had something like it! It was totally unlike a gopher-cat or elephant-bird or...anything! She guessed that's what made it a pokémon! But still, when its little eyes blinked up at her as it smiled, looking so, so cute and sweet...

It was just about one beat before she couldn't contain herself anymore. Her bright smile matched the tiny cleffa's as she scooped it up to cuddle against her cheek. Oh, and she guessed the cleffa shouldn't really be an "it". Or just "cleffa"! Ty Lee continued to nuzzle her as she proclaimed, "I'll call you 'Fen'!" —And she said "Fa!" back! That had to mean she liked it! Ty Lee cooed excitedly as she cuddled the little pokémon one more time before letting her sit on her lap so they could continue talking.

"I have to show you to Suki and the others! They'd totally love you too!"

"Fa!"

"Oh, right...I should go find them..." She stuffed Fen's ball into the pocket with the little, matching symbol on it before she swung the bag over her shoulder and stood up cradling Fen in her arm. If they were all in uniform, it wouldn't be hard to find them, but so far she hadn't seen any of the other warriors... It was a little discouraging.

Before she could pout about that too much, though, she continued, "And maybe you can meet Mai, too! She can be a liiiiittle moody, but she's one of my best friends since forever! She might even have someone you can be friends with."

"Clef!" They were clearly on the same wavelength, Ty Lee thought with a smile.

But as much as she liked her new pet, it was the thought of seeing her friends again that made Ty Lee get a little bounce in her step. As she wandered around the town, she kept an eye out for anyone familiar. Sure, this wasn't really where any of them had planned to go, but it wasn't so bad! Someone was even playing a little music to help relax everyone- and they needed it. Some of their auras were looking sort of dingy...
